Here are the sculptures from our OREO project.  Students used science inquiry skills to predict, test and record data on how many Oreo cookies they could stack.  Each student received two chances with their best stack counting.  We then averaged our class and found our class average to be 19 cookies.  We compared our average with schools all over the United States and beyond to find that we did better than most other first grade classes.

Our Oreo Sculptures

Students then created Oreo sculptures.  After creating the sculptures they wrote about their creations.  We also wrote the steps to eating an Oreo cookie.  Some say you pull the cookie apart first and others say you dunk it in milk first.  How do you eat an Oreo?

This week we are learning about nouns.  To introduce the concept we viewed this oldie but goodie. After viewing the video with your child, click on the link to add nouns to our wall.
